THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA a B.E.A. Buzz Pick!

Fri May 31, 2019

PFLM client Julia Drake’s upcoming debut YA contemporary, THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA, was one of five picks for the BookCon Expo Young Adult Editor Buzz Panel — a great chance to get exciting new titles in front of the movers-and-shakers in the industry. Julia’s editor, Laura Schreiber at Disney, talked about how excited she was to work on the book, saying, “Like all the best novels, The Last True Poets of the Sea is an ocean — it contains everything.” Julia Drake sat on a separate panel with the other buzz pick authors, where she discussed the story, which is based loosely on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. She noted it is a meditation on her own experiences with depression and anxiety, and that she “wanted to write a book that touched on these topics in a real, true way.” You can read more about Julia’s book and the panel in Publishers Weekly’s rundown, here.

Among the other highlights for THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA at B.E.A.: book-branded donut bags and coffee sleeves!
