Lisa Takeuchi Cullen
Lisa’s debut novel, PASTORS’ WIVES, was inspired by an article she reported as a staff writer for Time. She joined the magazine as a Tokyo correspondent; later covering news, trends, business, arts and religion stateside until 2009. Since then, Lisa has worked with Warner Bros., Sony Studios and CBS writing original TV pilots. She is a consulting producer on Season 21 of Law & Order: SVU, and is under an overall deal from Universal Studios. Her articles and essays have been published in The New York Times, Boston Globe, Money, Adweek and Bon Appetit. Her first book, REMEMBER ME (HarperCollins, 2006), a travelogue and exploration of modern American funerals, was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick.
Born and raised in Kobe, Japan, Lisa is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Rutgers College—and is now based in New Jersey.
