Karla McLaren

Karla McLaren, M.Ed. is an author, educator, workplace consultant, and social science researcher. Her work includes the first-ever grand unified theory of emotions and the accessible six essential aspects of empathy model that makes empathy understandable and sustainable for everyone.

Her applied work, Dynamic Emotional Integration®, revalues even the most “negative” emotions and opens startling new pathways into self-awareness, effective communication, and healthy empathy.

She is the author of many books in a dozen languages, including The Language of Emotions, The Power of Emotions at Work, Embracing Anxiety, and Escaping Utopia (with Janja Lalich, Ph.D.).

Karla lives with her beloved family in Northern California, where she volunteers with a tiny and mighty anarchist nonprofit that does direct street outreach and advocacy to support unsheltered folks.
