Janice Y. K. Lee

Born and raised in Hong Kong, the child of Korean immigrants, Janice traveled to the United States for school and graduated from Harvard College with a degree in English and American Literature and Language. Before starting her first book, she worked for several years as an editor at Elle and Mirabella magazines, with work also appearing in GlamourTravel and Leisure and numerous other publications. Her debut novel, THE PIANO TEACHER, was published to critical acclaim, spending 19 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, highlighted as a Richard and Judy Summer Read pick (UK) and translated into 26 languages worldwide.

Her latest novel, THE EXPATRIATES, is being adapted into an Amazon drama series, which Janice is producing alongside Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films and Theresa Park’s Per Capita Productions. She lives in New York City with her husband and four children.
